By the end of the programme you will:

• have identified your strengths and discovered a suitable career
path
• have developed the skills you need to market yourself to employers
How often
will I attend?
Attendance will be agreed with your Jobcentreplus Disability Employment
Advisor, but is typically for 15 hours per week for between 8 and 21
weeks.
How will the programme be delivered?
The programme is led by Employment Advisers through:
seminar presentations, written material, videos, group work and one-to-one
sessions.
Full participation will be encouraged to look at the practical issues
relating to employment.
Weekly assessments are made by the tutors and will be discussed with
you to make sure that you feel you are benefiting from the programme.
This gives you the opportunity to comment and make suggestions for future
programmes.
After the programme
By the end of the Work Preparation Programme you should expect to be:
• in work experience
• employed or self-employed
• considering further education
• looking at additional training
You will then receive continuous support for at least another 13 weeks
either to help you find work or to help you progress in your new job.
Travel Expenses
Work Preparation provides you with travel expenses for bus or train
fares.
