The Citizens Trust forms part of the Disability Times Trust (DTT),
a registered charity in the form of a company limited by guarantee.
It was founded in February 1996 with the involvement of the National
Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).
The organisation's primary objectives are to provide training, information
and counselling for disabled and disadvantaged people. It has an excellent
reputation for providing a caring atmosphere, in which even the most
demanding participants achieve success.
DTT is chaired by the Rt. Hon Lord Morris of Manchester AO QSO who,
as the first Minister for Disabled People in the UK, sets the standards
of care typified by the very professional nature of the Trust.
The Trust has a history that underlines its growing success in delivering
a wide range of Employment Rehabilitation programmes thro
ugh the Department
for Education and Employment. Originally operating as Disability Times
Trust, it concentrated solely on much-needed quality provision for
disabled people.
As the Trust's professional and dedicated team grew, so did the realisation
of the need for similar services for other groups of disadvantaged
sections of the community. The Trust has been able to expand its operations,
and now delivers a variety of programmes to support the needs of all
disabled and disadvantaged people.

Second Chance is an exciting new initiative aiming to address the barriers faced by ex-offenders ready and willing to work, but often discriminated against because of their past records.
